It was a
pleasant surprise today when the clouds disappeared and we had perfect
visibility with very little wind. The only problem was we weren’t on ski’s! It was perfect for a tour
with some soft snow on top of a harder icy crust. Of course in Scotland, ski
touring always comes with a couple of but’s……. you’ll have to carry the ski’s
to get some access to the decent stuff and don’t use the nice new one’s you got
for Christmas, on some aspects the snow is not as thick as it looks and there
are a few rocks around
Looking to the main Cairngorms.
Waiting for some tracks.
Cornice collapse on a NE aspect around a 1000 metres. Sign of the recent unstable period we had. There has been a few avalanches reported in the area.
