Poor visibility profile at Vrotachan

Good to get back on skis today to the West of Glenshee Ski Centre after a few days on foot. Visibility was poor at Loch Vrotachan but pleasantly surprised how much good snow there was for touring. The mild temperatures had softened the top couple of centimetres into flattering spring snow.

The top arrow on the profile photo below clearly shows the "ice layer" at 70/72 cms.
The middle arrow is where the dry snow "rounded grains" survive.
Bottom arrow; deep deep down in the snowpack below 1 metre are large 3mm "melt freeze crstals" that are "knife" hard.

Below, a probe lying on the slope has an inclinometer placed on it to determine slope angle. 28 degrees at the profile site today.
